Medicinal air in anaesthesia Together with other medical gases, medicinal air enables safe and well-tolerated anaesthesia.

In anaesthesia, medicinal air is used in the following applications:

  • As a carrier gas for narcotic substances in inhalational anaesthesia.

  • As a substitute for oxygen when combined with nitrous oxide to reduce the high concentration of oxygen exposure in patients whose delicate respiratory systems are sensitive to oxygen toxicity.
